I say stupidity and lies go together like caca and flies.
Our society threads water in a turbulent sea of lies and barely keeps its head above the relentless waves. It enough to make one want to break out the howitzers and lob a few shells.
The sad part is most people either don't know the lies they are inundated with or don't care.
The government announces the economy is getting better and unemployment claims are down. Of course, the way the government counts unemployment doesn't take into account those who have given up looking and those who have settled for part time jobs but want full time work. The government says inflation is staying low, but the formula the government uses to figure inflation doesn't include such things as food costs and energy costs, from gas and electric to gasoline, all of which have been skyrocketing for months. Insurance premiums go up, registration and licensing fees go up. Property values go down, but not property taxes. More and more people are going bankrupt and home forecloses are on the rise. The government is invading a new country each time you look and spending billions it doesn't have. Our erstwhile politicians squabble over millions while trillions float away down the sink and when one has the courage to tell the truth he is blasted as a nut or uncaring loon.
But the anointed one talks a good game and leads the sheep along the merry path to hell. We have our bread and circuses and sacrificing for the future is such an affront to our freedom.
We are in dire straits, yet the courageous have no followers and the zombies
live on, regenerated by a steady diet of deceit.
