On Rolls the Human Comedy

There are times when one doesn't know whether to laugh or cry at the happenings in the world around us. Our country continues its downward spiral from republic to empire to collapsed civilization. The messiah plots and schemes and advances his destructive agenda via thug politics and a complicit media. The opposition, mostly, baa and fret and baa some more.
More and more of the economy falls under government influence while we lose more and more of our manufacturing base. Government spending multiplies and the only ways to sustain the folly are to print more money and borrow more money and seek new ways to confiscate the workers' money, whether it's called a tax or a fee or a surcharge, etc.

We seek to extend the empire overseas at the cost of American lives and countless billions. (How about we brings the troops home and tell the moors that the next time any Islamic terrorist attacks our country, we nuke Mecca and Medina - for starts - to be followed by the capital cities of every Muslim nation on earth. Do you think that would get their attention while saving our troops and the incredible fortune being squandered on multiple wars?) We fail to defend our border and fail to educate our children in the history of their country and the truths our founding fathers and early pioneers espoused.
Meanwhile the public is consumed with Chelsea Clinton's million dollar wedding and what American Idol judges are leaving the show and whether Mel Gibson or his ex lover is lying and whether Sarah Palin's daughter should reconcile with her former boyfriend, the list is endless...while the economy goes down in flames and the American 'experiment' teeters on the mountain top.

If we are to seek diversion from the hell that awaits, we should at least do it in a way that resembles concern about a legitimate subject matter, e.g. how about the crook Charlie Rangel, a congressman for several decades who has evaded taxes, misused funds, etc. while in charge of the committee that writes tax law, and who is still awaiting congressional action after two years of investigating his ethics. He claims he is Innocent while most democrats including the anointed one want him to disappear, and yet the farce goes on without the public or media demanding justice.

What the hell.

I am at a point where I am beginning to lose hope that America can avoid the fall. Saint Augustine said to decide between the City of Man and the City of God. Perhaps it's time to make a leap of faith and go with a sure thing.
Jesus said to "Fear not for I am with thee."
With due respect, He might have added, "and let the chips fall where they may."

16 Tons and What Do You Get...

I owe the government $47,000.00. At least that's what I'll owe towards the national debt in 2011 according to the latest figures coming out of Washington, D.C.

You too. And, my better half and our kids and their kids and your's as well.

Haha all the way to the bank to draw on our vast holdings so we can pay off our debt.

Of course, the ammount will be higher than a mere 47K. The government always errs on the lower end when it comes to spending and debt.

Day by day and on into eternity we go, our debt ever expanding. Sisyphus pushing that boulder...

I am reminded of a song of frustration from my golden youth. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Joo90ZWrUkU

Good news on one front: scientists at the University of Kansas have concluded that life on earth is wiped out every 27,000,000 years, but we have another 16,000,000 years to go until the next time. Maybe we can get that debt paid off before then.

Enter the Dragon

Beware the Chinese dragon. Once it enters the home, all is devoured. The Chinese tell mythical tales of dragons devouring whole villages and then moving on to the next group of victims. In Chinese astrology, the dragon is the most powerful and crafty of signs. It is no wonder that China considers the dragon a national symbol.
China, the new colossus.
The 16th century belonged to Spain; the 17th to the Dutch; the 18th to France; the 19th to Great Britain; the 20th to America, and the 21st will be Chinese.
So it is with mankind and history. Nations wax and wane as surely as the moon. They parade on the stage of history enjoying fleeting glory and are in the end devoured by pride and indolence.

China has overtaken the USA as the world's leading manufacturer. China has overtaken the USA as the leading producer of automobiles. China has overtaken Germany as the leading exporter. China has slipped past Japan as the number 2 economy.
China is the USA's greatest creditor and, de facto if not de jure, effectively owns America.
Somewhere in the next life the founding fathers and their brave minutemen warriors are crying. Are there tears in heaven?
As we Americans prepare to celebrate the 4th of July, how many of us will think but a moment of those who died for their posterity- we descended Americans?
How many of us will be prepared to march and fight in defense of our posterity in the coming debacle?
